Tree Plantation in College Campus: 2018
For students the compassion for environment is must, adopting a plant and taking care till it grows, nurtures the sense of responsibility in them. These students have tried to contribute in their way for betterment of the society by planting trees. As per SPPU curriculum 50% weightage has been given to environmental awareness and considering the dire consequences that the pollution has on human life, The First Year Engineering Syllabus has been framed to make the students aware about the same.
We the First Year Faculties and NSS initiated the Environmental awareness through students by planting trees. The activity won’t stop here, the growth of these trees will be monitored regularly by the students. The trees were planted on an auspicious occasion of Independence day at the hands of Honorary Joint Secretary Shri Suresh Shinde.
Visit to “Matoshree” old age home: 2017
The students of First Year Engineering visited Matoshree Old Age Home on 20th November 2017. The purpose of the visit is to spread love and experience unforgettable moments. Old Age Home is a social organization named Raja Shri Shivrai Pratishthan started an Old Age Home in the name of “Matoshree”, in recognition with Government of Maharashtra in the year 1999. It is Located in scenic place in Karvenagar, on the bank of river Mutha. Mr. Deshpande Manager of this old age home explain us about the matoshree activities. He explained about Old age in person’s life which is an extremely delicate and emotional stage. During this period of life love, care and support is very important. Men and women stay here happily as a joint family. More than Hundred people can be accommodated here. After this we arrange entertainment program for them and distribute sixty blankets and Fruits.
Social Visit to Bal Kalyan Sanstha
The students of First Year Engineering visited Bal Kalyan sanstha on 27th March 2018. The purpose of the visit is to spread love and experience unforgettable moments. Institute is deeply concerned about overall development of special children and youth. As a regular ongoing endeavor The Bal Kalyan Sanstha provides facilities free of cost to special children for their recreation and sports. 4000 special students from 85 special schools are the beneficiaries. The activity starts with curiosity and ends with a sense of satisfaction at accumulating important knowledge in an enjoyable manner. Bal Kalyan Sanstha offers an ideal environment for their overall growth and believes in encouraging the children every way possible, a humble yet attractive comfortable spacious building with lush green lawns. Lovely myriad blossoms welcome the children every day. The institution has warm affectionate and extremely diligent teachers to coach the children to develop various skills.
Entertainment program was arranged by our students and was enjoyed by special children. They had been participated in these activities. We distributed Biscuits and Fruits to them and also donated DVD Player, Wall Fan, Sound system to this Organisation. This visit made students to realise that how privileged we are to be born as a normal human being and also made them empathise toward challenges face by the special children.
