Dr. V. R. Patil is the Dean – Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) AISSMS College of Engineering, Pune. With over 30 years of professional experience in engineering education and industry, he has made significant contributions to academic excellence, institutional quality assurance, accreditation, and outcome-based education.
He has taught a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Thermodynamics, Thermal Engineering, Internal Combustion Engines, Engineering Graphics, Automotive Engine Design.His research interests include alternative fuels, biodiesel, internal combustion engines, waste heat recovery, sustainable energy systems, and engine performance and emission analysis. He has published 11 research papers in reputed international journals, presented papers at international conferences, guided 10 postgraduate dissertations and over 100 undergraduate projects, and has two published patents to his credit. He is a Life Member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and the Solar Energy Society of India (SESI).
As Dean – IQAC, Dr. V R Patil leads the institute’s quality assurance initiatives by promoting continuous improvement in academic and administrative processes. He has played a pivotal role in strengthening institutional systems for NBA and NAAC accreditation, NEP 2020 implementation, academic and administrative audits, faculty development, institutional rankings, and quality benchmarking. Under his leadership, the college has further enhanced its quality culture through systematic planning, evidence-based practices, and stakeholder-focused initiatives. Driven by a commitment to academic excellence and institutional development, Dr. Patil continues to lead initiatives that enhance teaching-learning processes, strengthen governance, and promote sustainable development, ensuring that AISSMS College of Engineering remains aligned with national and global standards of higher education.
