Research and Development (R&D) is an integral part of academic excellence and institutional growth at AISSMS College of Engineering, Pune.
The institute provides a conducive environment for research through well-equipped laboratories, experienced faculty members, collaborative initiatives, and opportunities for participation in national and international conferences, seminars, workshops, Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), and research competitions. Faculty members are encouraged to undertake funded research projects and submit proposals to various government and non-government funding agencies. Collaborative research initiatives with industries, academic institutions, professional organizations, and research organizations are also promoted to strengthen the connection between academic knowledge and practical applications.
Objectives:
- Facilitate identification, filing, protection of intellectual property including patents and copyright
- Promote a research culture among faculty members, researchers, and students.
- Support faculty and students in obtaining externally funded research projects from government, private, and international agencies
Functions:
- Create awareness on intellectual property rights including patents, copyrights, etc
- Facilitate drafting, filing, and prosecution of patent applications in coordination with IPR experts
- Identify and circulate research funding projects from agencies such as UGC, AICTE, DST, SERB, DRDO, ISRO, CSIR, ICSSR, and industry.
- Assist faculty in preparation, internal review, and submission of research proposals
- Promote publication of research articles in peer-reviewed and indexed journals
- Maintain a centralized database.
