E-Waste Collection Drive
The Department of Robotics and Automation Engineering at AISSMS College of Engineering, Pune, successfully organized an E-Waste Collection and Submission Drive to promote environmental awareness and responsible disposal of electronic waste.
Date: 23th April 2026
Time: 10:30 am Onwards
Venue: Robotics and Automation Department, AISSMS COE, Pune
Number of Participants: 80 Students and 05 Faculty Members
The activity witnessed enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty members of the department. The drive was conducted with the objective of encouraging individuals to safely dispose of obsolete and non-functional electronic devices such as mobile phones, chargers, batteries, circuit boards, and other electronic components
Students actively collected e-waste from their homes and nearby communities, contributing to a cleaner and greener environment. Faculty members also supported the initiative by spreading awareness about the hazards of improper e-waste disposal.
The collected e-waste was systematically segregated and submitted to the designated office for further processing and safe recycling through authorized agencies. Faculty ensured proper coordination, while student volunteers efficiently managed collection, documentation, and handling.

Introduction
The Department of Robotics and Automation Engineering organized a Seed Ball Making Workshop & Activity on 28th April 2026 under the Bharat Environment Program. The activity aimed to create awareness among students regarding environmental sustainability, biodiversity conservation, and urban greening through a simple and practical hands-on activity.
Students actively participated in preparing eco-friendly seed balls using soil, compost, and seeds. This initiative encouraged students to contribute toward creating greener surroundings and understanding the importance of sustainable environmental practices.
Objectives of the Activity
- To create awareness about environmental conservation and sustainability among students.
- To promote biodiversity and support urban greening initiatives.
- To encourage students to participate in eco-friendly and practical environmental activities.
- To demonstrate the process of seed ball preparation using simple and locally available materials.
- To inspire students to contribute toward carbon sequestration and improvement of soil health.
The workshop began with an introduction to the concept of seed balls and their environmental importance. Students were guided on the preparation process, which included:
- Mixing soil, compost, and seeds
- Moulding the mixture into small seed balls
- Allowing them to dry for protective coating
- Understanding proper dispersal methods for better plant growth
The activity also highlighted the benefits such as biodiversity boost, carbon absorption, urban greening, water retention, and global environmental impact.
Students enthusiastically prepared seed balls and understood how small environmental actions can create a long-term positive impact.
