Gymkhana is an integral part of educational institution. It serves as a platform for students to engage in various extracurricular and co-curricular activities, contributing to their overall development. Gymkhana provides opportunities for students to explore their talents, interests, and potential in areas such as Sports, Cultural activities, social gatherings and magazine.

The primary objective of a gymkhana is to create an environment that fosters personal growth, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship among students. It encourages them to participate actively in sports competitions, cultural events, and other organized activities both within and outside the institution.

Gymkhana often organizes a range of events and competitions throughout the year. These may include inter-collegiate sports tournaments, cultural festivals, social gatherings, talent shows, and excellence award ceremonies. Such events provide students with a chance to showcase their skills, talents, and achievements, while also promoting a sense of camaraderie and healthy competition among peers.

Gymkhana activities not only contribute to the physical well-being of students but also enhance their social and interpersonal skills. Apart from sports and cultural, our college has college magazine.  The Magazine Department of AISSMS COE is a vibrant hub of creativity and literary excellence, providing a platform for our engineering students to express themselves and showcase their artistic and literary talents to a wider audience. Shivdarpan, our magazine department, has received numerous accolades and recognition for its exceptional publications. Our magazine, Hrudayam, was awarded the second-best professional magazine award in Pune city for the year 2018-19, a testimony to the exceptional work produced by our team. Additionally, our previous publications, Kavyansh (2019-20) and Chitragandha (2021-2022), have garnered praise and appreciation from our readers.

Overall, a gymkhana plays a pivotal role in the holistic development of students by providing them with a platform to nurture their talents, pursue their passions, and create memorable experiences during their academic journey.

Gymkhana organizes following events every year:

  1. Annual Social gathering event ‘Shivanjali’: Every year, the institute organizes an Annual Social Gathering and Excellence Award Ceremony “Shivanjali”. The students whose performance are excellent in various activities like academic, co-curricular, cultural and sports are awarded with trophy and certificate during the ceremony. During the function the cultural students organize the variety entertainment programe.
  2. ‘Ashwamedh’: The Institute organizes Inter Collegiate sports and cultural fest for aspirants assembling from various engineering colleges with a high competitive spirit to participate with strong determination to include their achievements & accomplishments. Institute conducts an Inter – Collegiate Sports and Cultural Competition at every year named “Ashwamedh” (A Blend of Cultural and Sports events).
  3. “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Cricket Trophy”: a state level Inter-Collegiate T 20 Cricket tournament on our College grounds for Professional Colleges like Engineering, Hotel Management, Management and Pharmacy etc
  4. “Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Football Trophy”: a state level Inter-Collegiate football tournament on our College grounds for Professional Colleges like Engineering, Hotel Management, Management and Pharmacy etc
  5. Inter- Collegiate competition: Since the establishment of the College, the gymkhana has been playing vital role in the overall development of the students. As a results, our students have earned applauds in the competitions at University, State and National level, prominent among them are, Milanze, Zest , MIT Summit, , Kaware Trophy etc.
  6. Inter Department Competition: Every year, the institute organizes Inter Department competition like cricket, football, Volleyball, Basketball, Kabaddi, Table Tennis, Chess, Badminton.
  7. Cultural Activities: Art circle of the aissms coe performs in various competitions throughout the year which includes state level competitions like firodaya karandak, vinodattam karandak,Which focuses on various Co-curricular departments of the student’s academic year such as musical literacy, dance, acting skills, direction and script writing, sand art, painting, set and costume designing, etc it not only focuses on art related activities but also technical art forms such as miniature Chroma, shadow art, light show, radium art etcThe main objective for focusing on these various departments of the student’s co-curricular development is to help them develop better personalities and helps them learn how to focus towards their goals and work for it in a sustainable way which will help them in surviving tough competition in the world.
  8. Magazine Activities:
  1. Artrival: Every year, the magazine department of AISSMS College of Engineering hosts a remarkable event called “ARTRIVAL,” bringing Thomas Merton’s words to life on campus. This annual art exhibition, now in its fifth edition, is a captivating platform for the college’s talented students to showcase their creative prowess and aesthetic abilities. ARTRIVAL invites art enthusiasts to immerse themselves in diverse artistic expressions, including over 200 sketches, paintings, and 100+ photographs. The exhibition goes beyond traditional mediums, featuring fine art, origami, mobile cover painting, wood art, and other captivating forms of artistic expression. The venue is beautifully adorned with origami, mandala art, paper art, paintings, and other eye-catching displays. Furthermore, the exhibition promotes sustainability by incorporating eco-friendly materials and repurposing waste.
  2. Author’s Meet: The magazine department of AISSMS College of Engineering hosts “Yuvawani: Author’s Meet,” bringing renowned authors and poets to interact with creative students. Previous guest speakers include Monica Singh, Vaibhav Joshi, Amit Jha Rahi, and Vishal Bagh. This medium-sized event provides a platform for intellectual exchange, inspiring students and nurturing their creative potential in writing and poetry. It fosters a sense of community, encouraging students to explore their talents and form connections with established literary figures. “Yuvawani: Author’s Meet” is a transformative experience that empowers students to embark on their own literary journeys with confidence.

Poetry Competition: The magazine department of AISSMS College of Engineering hosts an engaging poetry competition where students submit their original poems and present them to a panel of judges and an enthusiastic audience. The event celebrates individual talent, fosters camaraderie, and promotes self-expression. With diverse themes and styles, students captivate the audience with heartfelt recitations, receiving valuable feedback from experienced judges.
