Department of Mechanical Engineering runs Institution of Engineers students’ chapter in the department. It is the chapter for the students by the students.
IE (I) Students’ chapter of Mechanical Engineering (AISSMS College of Engineering), established in October 2006, organizes various student centered activities throughout the year.
Students’ Chapter of IE (I) is formed for initiating and imbibing the feeling of belongingness into fraternity of engineering to which the students of engineering are destined. Chapter organizes technical events like Expert Lecture, Technical Paper Presentation, Project Competitions, Group Discussions, Industrial Visits, etc. for the development of socio-techno intellectual qualities of the students and for encouraging their urge and surge for knowledge in a disciplined and guided system.

Social Programme at Sarthi Madhyamic Vidyalaya, Mundhwa, Pune on 03 September 2013.Student members and faculty members actively participated in the programme. Theme of this programme was to create awareness and interest about engineering among school students. Prof C S Choudhari coordinated the programme.

ACTIVITIES FOR 2012-13
- IE (I) Chapter organized Inter Departmental Essay Writing Competition
On topic “Clean Energy Options and Nuclear Energy” on 24th July 2012 at 2.30 pm. - IE Students’ Chapter organized Guest lecture on “PREPARATION OF MPSC and UPSC
EXAMINATIONS on 28 August 2012 at 2.30 PM.

- IE (I) Chapter organized TECHNICAL LECTURE SERIES for BE Mechanical and BE Mechanical s/w students.
Series of revision lectures of the subjects from 2nd year onward was organized from 26th July 2012, Thursday, to revise basic concepts to prepare students for technical interview, technical tests, etc.
Lectures are held once in a week, every Thursday from 3:30PM to 5:30PM
Students appearing for the Technical Test Students appearing for the Technical Test - Chapter organized interactive session for the final year students of Mechanical and Mechanical SW regarding Training and Placement Department. In this session Training and Placement Head Prof Shriniwas Rao interacted with the students. In his interaction he shared his views on placement activity in the college, expectations of the industries from graduate trainee, how to prepare for interviews, and preparation of Biodata and about pool campus.
Prof.Shriniwas Rao, Head, Training & Placement, delivering his speech - Chapter organized a guest lecture on topic “Ways to Join Indian Army” on 28/12 /2013 for S.E. mechanical students. Mr. Kunal Joshi, student of the 2011-12 batch who got selected in Indian Army addressed students regarding the preparations required to join Indian Army.
